About US Supplier Index
US Supplier Index is a small research team that maintains a facts-only directory of US manufacturers, private-label suppliers and co-packers for consumer-product brands that want to source domestically.
Why this exists
Finding a domestic supplier is still absurdly hard. The public data exists — government sourcing registries, association member rolls, the suppliers' own sites — but it is scattered, stale, and often buried in interfaces built for policy staff rather than founders. Meanwhile the practical questions a small brand actually has (what's the minimum order? how long is the lead time? is this company still operating?) go unanswered.
We compile those public facts into one place and keep them fresh: every listing is re-verified monthly, and website-liveness checks are dated so you can see exactly when a supplier was last confirmed active.
What we are not
- We are not a review site. No stars, no editorial opinions, no "avoid" lists.
- We are not a lead broker. We never sell buyer contact information, and we never promise suppliers leads or revenue.
- We are not pay-to-rank. Ranking criteria are objective and published at /methodology; claiming a listing never moves it up.
How we make money
Suppliers can claim their listing for a monthly fee. A claimed listing gets a verified badge, a dofollow link, and self-service fact updates. That's the whole business model — transparent, and it keeps our incentives aligned with keeping facts accurate rather than selling placement.
